Kristine Sande, MBA, Program Director of HWIC

Kristine Sande serves as the program director for the Health Workforce Information Center at the Center for Rural Health, University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks.

As the program director, Sande manages the development of HWIC's products and services, including its Web-based resources. She also coordinates the activities among the HWIC partners and works to develop and promote HWIC activities.

Since 2002, Ms. Sande has also served as the program director of the Rural Assistance Center, a rural health and human services "information portal" which helps rural communities and other rural stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding, and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents. She provides strategic leadership, speaks to national audiences, and ensures the integration, coordination, timing, and consistency of project activities, processes, and products.

Sande previously served as the project coordinator for the North Dakota Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (Flex) Program at the Center for Rural Health. In that capacity, she provided technical assistance to North Dakota's rural hospitals. Prior to joining the Center for Rural Health, she worked in the finance departments of two rural electric cooperatives.

She has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in economics and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from the University of North Dakota.
