Description The primary purpose of the AHRQ Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Awards (K08) program is to prepare qualified individuals for careers that have a significant impact on the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare for all Americans. This program represents the continuation of an AHRQ program that provides support and protected time to individuals with a clinical doctoral degree for an intensive, supervised research career development experience in health services research. The award can be used both by individuals who propose to newly embark in heath services research training and those who had a hiatus in their research careers because of illness or family circumstances.
