| Description |
Provides a loan repayment program for physicians, dentists, and other health professionals who commit to serve in a Health Professional Service Area (HPSA) or Medically Underserved Area (MUA) for at least two years. |
| Amount |
- For physicians and dentists, the Program will repay up to $120,000 of school loans over four years of service.
- For other health professionals, the Program will repay up to $66,000 of school loans over four years of service.

| Eligibility |
- Applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be one of the following:
- Physician who has completed post-graduate training in family practice medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry or osteopathic general practice
- Dentist who has completed post-graduate training in general or pediatric dentistry
- Registered Nurse, Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Dental Hygienist, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, or Professional Counselor who has graduated from an accredited program and completed all required post graduate training
- Be licensed or eligible to practice in the District of Columbia
- Have no other obligation for health professional service to the federal or state government, unless the obligation will be completely satisfied prior to the beginning of service under the Program.
