| Description |
The Michigan Tuition Grant program is available to Michigan residents with financial need who plan to
attend or are attending independent, degree-granting Michigan postsecondary institutions. |
| Amount |
Awards pay up to a maximum of $1,610 per
academic year. Students may receive the equivalent of ten (10) semesters or 15 terms of full-time
assistance as an undergraduate. Future
awards are subject to available and approved funding. |

Demonstrate financial need

Enroll at least half time at an approved independent, degree-granting Michigan postsecondary institution

Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate or meet the institution’s Ability to Benefit Standards

Be a Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year

Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or approved refugee
-
Meet institution’s satisfactory academic progress (SAP) policy
-
Not be incarcerated
-
Cannot be enrolled in a course of study leading to a degree in theology, divinity, or religious education
-
Not be in default on a federal student loan
