Description The Health Professions Education Scholarship Program will award scholarships of up to $10,000 to pay tuition, required fees, books, supplies, and educational equipment costs related to the applicant’s health care education.

Recipients must agree to provide direct patient care on a full time basis in a designated shortage area for a minimum of two years after graduation.

Eligible applicants include California residents who are free from any other service obligations and are enrolled in California schools in one of the following health professional education programs:
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Clinical nurse specialists
  • Certified nurse midwives
  • Physician assistants
  • Dental hygienists
  • Dentists
