Description THe Arkansas Geriatric Education Mentors & Scholars is a continuing education program aimed at health professionals working with older patients who want to learn more about the aging process and improve the care they provide.
Geographic Coverage Arkansas
Eligibility Health professionals such as dietitians, physicians, nurses, therapists, psychologists, social workers, and others, who provide care to older adults are invited to participate in this program. Program Requirements:
  • Participate in a 2-hour phone orientation.
  • Complete four required self-instructional units and at least two additional self-instructional.
  • Develop a module on the availability and use of community resources in cooperation with scholars from the same site.
  • Participate in a one day health care team experience and a one day "Coaching and Mentoring" workshop in Little Rock.
  • Engage in ten (10) hours of experiential practice in a geriatric setting with a mentor.
  • Attend 2 video teleconferences sponsored by the AGE
