HWIC Staff Update
Information specialist Margo Klein, MLIS, joins HWIC team

Margo KleinThe Health Workforce Information Center (HWIC) would like to announce a new addition to their team of information specialists! Margo Klein, MLIS, joined the staff this month. As one of three MLIS-trained information specialists on staff, Margo collects, organizes, develops, and maintains content for HWIC’s web site and provides direct customized assistance to individuals and organizations who contact HWIC via telephone or e-mail.

Margo first joined the University of North Dakota Center for Rural Health in December 2008 as an information specialist for rural veterans’ health projects, before transitioning to her position with HWIC, another project of the ND Center for Rural Health. Previously, she was employed as a Network Service Representative / Physician Contractor for Humana Veterans Healthcare Services. As part of Project HERO, she contracted with health care providers throughout the Dakotas to provide services to veterans unable to receive prompt care within the VA system. She has a special interest in behavioral and mental health, having spent five years working with a multitude of mental health professionals at Ceridian LifeWorks, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Margo will focus most of her attention towards developing topical and profession-related resources in the general content areas of behavioral health, community and social services, veteran’s health, oral health, and workforce research. She will also focus on state-specific information, events, resources, and news for most states in the western and southern areas of the country.

“I am excited and proud to work with such a talented group of people, and on a project of such importance,” she remarks. “HWIC is such a comprehensive resource for health workforce information.”

Users are encouraged to call or e-mail Margo or any of the other information specialists; HWIC’s staff is knowledgeable, experienced, and eager to help.
